Wendy Anderson

Wendy Anderson’s career in the employment industry spanned over 25 years which included Human Resources, Directing a Human Resources Consulting and Executive Recruitment Firm in downtown Los Angeles and Manager of National Temporary Services in Century City with annual billings of over $4 millionand went on to establish her own Temporary Service - City Personnel Services For over 9 years in Los Angeles which
employedover 250 temporary employees. She presented Job Workshops and was a published writer on employment issues, career development and the job search process. Her Soap opera “As the Workplace Churns” was published on the Internet. She created and published two books of quotes one on Leadership and the other on The Future of the Transportation Industry for a WTS Workshop and the Transportation Foundation Awards Luncheon. Wendy was a contributing writer to Working World Magazine for over three years and contributing editor for Pacific Rim Riza Magazine on her article “Working Around the World”.

Wendy was guest speaker at the UCLA, Center on Aging Job Fair with over 350 attendees, with topic “Actively Dispelling the Older Worker Myths at the Job Interview”. She has also presented workshop entitled “The Goose and the Golden Resume/Interview”, “Roadmap to Success” and “The Joy and The Passion of Leadership”, creating the “Book of Quotes on Leadership”.

She has appeared on TV and radio shows on the value of employing older Americans and dispelling stereotypes. She has been a guest speaker on employment issues, job search process, leadership, career development & team building to the Center for Nonprofit Management; Experience Unlimited Job Clubs, EDD, State of California; ICF Kaiser Engineers; Culver City Adult School; 40+; National Council of Jewish Women Los Angeles; IBM Youth Exploration Program; Senior Centers; Women Helping Women; and The Time of Your Life Expo. She served on the Business Advisory Counsel for Career Encores for over 18 years.

Wendy made a major career move in 1998 and founded her event company WOW! Event Productions. In 2001, she also founded the Cherry Blossom Festival Southern California, which in its 7th year had over 30,000 attendees in downtown Los Angeles. Her company has won event awards on a local, regional, national and international level for corporate, entertainment, non-profit, community and social events.
She recently was the recipient of the Small Businesswoman of the Year - 2008 Women in Business Awards presented by Assembly Member Paul Krekorian, State Senator Jack Scott & Assembly Member Anthony Portantino. In 2008, she was also recognized with a Volunteer Service Award from the Pasadena Council of Women’s Club.

Anderson has over 30 years of community service for numerous organizations. She currently serves on the Pasadena Commission on the Status of Women and the Boards of East West Players (Co-President), the nation’s premier Asian American Theatre and the National Women’s Political Caucus, Greater Pasadena Chapter (Secretary).

She was a Certified Volunteer Court & Community Mediator for the Los Angeles County Bar Association for 17 years serving the Pasadena Prosecutor's office, Santa Monica District Attorney's office and the community in general. She was the Mediator for the first Superior Court Judge requested mediation, a franchise dispute, which resolved through mediation. She also served on the Advisory Committee for Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education; Business Advisory Committee for the Employer Advisory Committee for the Employment Development Department, State of California; and on the Executive Board and Board of Directors for the California Association of Temporary Services (CATS).
